Job Overview:
Our Communications Team has an immediate opening for a Photography Director to support the Boy Scouts of America’s websites and magazines.
The individual in this position will:
• Shoot, purchase, and/or assign all photos needed by the magazines.
• Identify, track, and file all photographs.
• Develops photo concepts for future issues of the magazines.
• Determine assignments of freelance photographers, oversee their work, and negotiate with agencies regarding freelance photographers. Source and develop freelance photographers.
• Handle all processing and accounting of in-house photography.
• Maintain and purchase all department photo equipment.
Qualifications/ Experience: The qualified candidate must have:
• Bachelor’s Degree required concentration Photography or related field preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of photography experience.
• Knowledge of photography, photo software, video, publications, freelancers, and agencies.
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Macintosh computers (cross-platforms).
• Must be physically fit; extensive travel and rigorous outdoor adventures is required.
• Thorough knowledge and familiarity with the goals and programs of the Boy Scouts of America is a plus.
