I always use quotes in my books. I figure why re-invent the wheel. If an idea I'm trying to convey has been said already and said well, then why not use it. Here are a few of my favorite quotes related to photography.
"I never have taken a picture I've intended. They're always better or worse." - Diane Arbus
"I photograph to find out what something will look like photographed." - Garry Winogrand
"I try to be a photographer. I cannot talk. I am not interested in talking. If I have anything to say, it may be found in my images."- Joseph Koudelka
“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” - Ansel Adams
"If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera." - Lewis Hine
Five great and smart photographers with inspiring words.
