The Twitter Hashtags That Every Photographer Should Use

Harrison Jacobs

Twitter is key to your social media game. As we talked about in this article, you must engage with the community to get traction. It’s the cardinal rule of social media. However, with 200 million users and counting, the Twitter community is a little too big to engage all at once. Instead, you have to engage with your target community, specifically, photographers. To talk to that community, it’s effective to use hashtags.

Hashtags are tags embedded in tweets and consist of a word prefixed with a hash sign (#). They are used to make it easier for users to search for specific topics within the larger Twitter conversation. If you know what hashtags to use, they can be very useful for getting your tweets in front of people who are actually interested in what you have to say. Some people use hashtags excessively, adding a hashtag to every clever phrase they come up with. This looks unprofessional and is ineffective. No one is going to know to search for #darkroomparty. Someone will know to search for #photographer.

We looked through the annals of Twitter to find you the hashtags that Twitter users actually use. Happy Tweeting!
