Photographer Vincent Fournier says his work with Irene Lam began unexpectedly in 2010. After his second photographer couldn’t make a shoot, Fournier asked Lam to help out and was impressed with how quickly she picked up settings he gave her on the fly, handling his backup, manual Fujifilm S2 Pro. “She’s now shooting with a [Nikon] D300,” Fournier says, “and even with that camera’s low-light capability, she uses flash to great effect at weddings.” Lam has now struck out on her own in the industry, but Fournier still remembers when she took boudoir shots for a bride and made her feel at ease while working effortlessly with the available light.
