Photographer Carrie Mae Weems Wins MacArthur ‘Genius’ Grant

Carrie Mae Weems, a photographer and video maker, is one of the 24 creative people named a 2013 MacArthur Fellow. The fellowship, which is funded by the MacArthur Foundation and is commonly known as the “genius” grant, comes with a stipend of $625,000, paid out in installments over five years.
