Photographer Erin Trieb Embeds With the ISIS-fighting Kurdish Women’s Protection Unit

At a funeral procession in Roshava, Syria, Kurdish Women’s Protection Unit (YPJ) soldiers carry the casket of fellow female soldier, Evrim, who died in combat while fighting ISIS. Evrim was one of about 24 Kurdish soldiers buried in the cemetery during the month of August.
