Pioneering Photographer Barbara Crane on Women in Photography

“Inner Circles,” 2004, by Barbara Crane, who had her first solo gallery exhibition in the late 1960s. Her awards include two National Endowment for the Arts grants and a Guggenheim Fellowship. 

Of the many groups formed to support women photographers, one of the newest is Chicago Women in Photography (See “Women Photographers Find Strength In Numbers.”). It has attracted photographers with a variety of experience, from relative newcomers to established professionals.
