The first in an edition of two 44 x 60-inch pigment prints of this iconic Eggleston photograph was estimated by Christie's to sell for $200,000-300,000. The photograph sold for $578,500 at the March 12 auction, nearly doubling the high estimate. It was the high lot in the sale. While a dozen of the prints offered for sale at the auction were never-before-published or sold, familiar Eggleston photographs fetched the highest prices.
