Objects of Desire: Panasonic MW-20

Here’s a fun new toy: a digital photo frame that doubles as a stereo music system compatible with iPod Touches and iPhones. Just connect your Apple-approved music/phone device to Panasonic’s MW-20 via its cradle, and you can start showing your images while blasting a soundtrack of your favorite tunes.

The MW-20’s nine-inch screen can also play back videos, creating a slick, multimedia presentation from a device that’s small enough to fit in a laptop bag. Clients may drool; friends will undoubtedly be jealous.

Stereo sound comes from a 5.6mm Super Slim Semi Dome Speaker built in below the screen. The speaker even has a diffuser and a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to optimize the sound.

The screen comes with an adjustable angle display system that lets you tilt it in different directions for better viewing. It can also be hung on the wall. To display photos from a digital camera, pop an SD card into a card slot on the MW-20 and a slideshow will start rolling. There’s also 20 mb of built-in storage if you want to store content right on the device. We know it’s a little early, but this would make a great holiday gift. (Hint, hint, wink, wink.)

Cost: $249
