AUGUST 11, 2014

By Greg Scoblete

Profoto will release a new version of its Air Remote that brings support for full TTL metering on Nikon cameras using the company’s B1 off-camera flash.

The Air Remote TTL-N, available beginning September 15,  attaches to a Nikon hot shoe to enable TTL metering with the B1. It can also be used to manually remote control and sync the B1 or other Profoto flashes that use the company’s Air technology.

In announcing the new Air Remote, Profoto also indicated that they are preparing a firmware upgrade to enable high-speed sync on the B1 system as well as new light-shaping tools “optimized for on-location photography.” TTL functionality for additional camera manufacturers is also in the works.
