Object of Desire: Manfrotto Windsor Collection
February 17, 2017
Like Basil Fawlty, this new bag line hopes to add a touch of class to your outings. Unlike the bumbling Brit, however, the Windsor succeeds at achieving an elegant form while retaining its function. The backpack is built around a system of interchangeable, modular dividers that can be folded out of the way of larger gear or pulled out completely to make room for personal items. The bag can house a professional DSLR with a 70-200mm f/2.8 attached, plus a pair of additional lenses and accessories. There’s also a padded interior compartment that can house a 15-inch laptop. The outside features a water-repellant fabric and leather trim. You can attach a tripod via the exterior connection points. The Windsor is sized to fit domestic airline carry-on regulations. If you like the Windsor styling but aren’t in the market for a backpack, there’s also a reporter bag that can house a medium-sized DSLR with a 24-70mm lens attached, a 70-200mm and two additional lenses alongside a 13-inch laptop. There are two messenger-style bags as well in small and medium sizes that can hold a tablet and 15-inch laptop, respectively.
