Object of Desire: Tiny Atlas Solas

By Greg Scoblete

Tiny Atlas’s stock-in-trade is bringing stories of the road to life through a quarterly magazine packed with vibrant photography. Now, the team has brought something different, but equally vibrant, to life: a photo-friendly travel bag dubbed Solas. The Solas was created in collaboration with Alite Designs and while it’s ostensibly a gear bag, it’s equally capable of carrying your personal items. The Solas can be worn in one of three ways: as a tote, a shoulder bag or a backpack. It offers a weather-resistant, durable waxed cotton canvas exterior and a cushioned internal frame with protective foam to keep camera gear secure. The interior is reinforced enough to stand upright when the bag is placed down, and it’s roomy enough for a full-frame DSLR with battery grip, lens and a few essential accessories. There’s a padded sleeve large enough for a 13-inch laptop, a pair of lined mesh organizers and an internal key leash. It’s available in three color options. You can accessorize the Solas with optional cushioned lens pouches as well as a grid organizer, which has zippered pouches for batteries and memory cards and comes with its own strap so you can sling it over your shoulder if want to free up space in your Solas.
