G-Technology has pulled back the curtain on the newest member of its Studio line of Thunderbolt 2 storage solutions: the G-SPEED Studio XL.

Geared for HD, 2K and 4K video workflows, the XL boasts capacities from 24TB to 64TB via eight hot-swappable, enterprise-class hard drives. A pair of Thunderbolt 2 ports are on hand for blazing fast transfer speeds of 1,350MB/s and for daisy-chaining other Thunderbolt devices to your workstation. The XL will offer numerous RAID configurations including 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, all driven by an enterprise-class RAID controller.

The Studio XL owes its humungous capacity in part to a family of new, higher capacity removable hard disks. These same drives will also be available for use in existing G-RAID Studio and G-RAID Speed units later this year. These drives will add capacity to the older G-RAID products but won’t deliver increased data transfer rates.

The XL drives will ship in November and cost $3,599 for a 24TB, $4,599 for 32TB, $5,499 for 40TB, $5,999 for 48TB and $6,999 for the 64TB model.
