Impossible has announced a second-generation version of its Instant Lab, adding support for Android devices.

The new Instant Lab Universal connects with iOS and Android devices via a redesigned cradle and snaps an image of the phone’s display to creates an instant print via an internal film processing unit.

The new cradle can accommodate a range of screen sizes and ships with a removable adaptor designed for the iPhones 4/s/5/s/c. Without the adapter, the Instant Lab can fit iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, all models of the iPad and numerous Android devices as well.

First generation Instant Lab owners can spring for a cradle upgrade kit to accommodate a wider range of devices. The kit costs $49.

In addition to an iOS app, the Impossible Project app is now available for Android device owners as well.

The Instant Lab Universal was inspired by the Polaroid SX-70 camera and accepts the full range of Impossible Project instant films. In addition to creating an instant print, the Instant Lab allows you to expose an image multiple times or produce multi-image collages.

The updated Instant Lab Universal will retail for $249 and is available for pre-order now.
