Tamron has released an update to its 10-year old 18-200mm lens for APS-C DSLRs that it’s hailing as the lightest in the world at 14.1 ounces.

The 18-200mm Di II VC (B018) boasts an aperture range of f/3.5-6.3 and a new AF mechanism with a DC motor-driven operation. It sports Tamron’s Vibration Compensation image stabilization technology to keep subjects shake-free as you zoom out. It can focus on objects up to 19.3-inches away and has a seven blade aperture diaphragm.

The new lens will offer moisture resistance and a zoom lock and accepts 62mm filters.

Tamron will ship Canon and Nikon versions of the lens this month for $249. A Sony mount version without VC will ship at a later date.
