If you’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on Pentax’s K-3 digital SLR but just haven’t found the motivation, the new gunmetal gray Prestige Edition
may just seal the deal. A limited run of 2,000 units will be sold through dealers and on Pentax’s website. The kit includes the K-3 body, the BG-5 battery grip (in matching gunmetal gray), a black leather strap and a pair of batteries that can be used in the camera body or the grip. First announced in October 2013, the K-3 sports a 24-megapixel APS-C-sized sensor, a 27-point AF system and burst shooting at 8.3 frames per second. Among the K-3’s notable features is a simulated anti-aliasing filter; you can select whether you want the Moiré-fighting filter on or off in a given scene. The price of such prestige? A $100 premium over the original K-3’s asking price.
