While many photographers relish the ability to focus by hand, not everyone has the time or inclination.

A new adapter from Techart Pro lets you bring Leica’s manual focus M-mount lenses onto Sony a7 camera bodies, and enable autofocusing on those lenses.

The adapter has a motor to move the lens closer or further away from the camera sensor. It supports both single and continuous AF. According to Techart, the maximum shift along the z-axis is 4.5mm “which is sufficient to cover the focusing distance for most of the lenses.” Techart claims you won’t take a hit in optical performance and focusing will take less than a second.

The adapter can also shorten the close focusing distance of the lens, similar to a helicoid or close-focusing adapter. It weighs 0.3 pounds and supports lenses as heavy as 1.5 pounds.

The Techart Pro adapter retails for $395.
