As a creative consultant and producer, I see photography every day.
When I was asked to feature a photographer I had many people to
choose from, but
Darryl Bernstein came to mind almost immediately. I have had
the pleasure of working with Darryl and love his sense of fun and
conceptual creativity. Darryl's work makes me laugh, but it also
makes me stop and think and that's what makes great photography. I
am just one of many industry creatives who have enjoyed Darryl's
vision and professionalism. I wanted to share a few comments from
others on why they hire and continue to use his talents. Here is
what they had to say:
Dave McKay, Creative Director, saltStudio, Missoula, MT:
"Darryl is first and foremost an artist who happens to use a camera
as his tool. I think you could say that about most photographers,
but if I were to equate him to another kind of artist, it would be
like an Old World lithographer. He possesses this dogged approach
to the image and a tenacious commitment to getting it right, plus
he pays for drinks."
Mark Eimer, Creative Director, Mark Eimer Design, Kansas City,
MO:
"I've known and worked with Darryl for 17 plus years, and it's been
a great partnership. I've worked with many photographers in my 25
years in advertising and Darryl is one of the few who truly
embraces collaboration. Whether we're shooting an annual report on
the American-Mexico border-gunshots fired on the Mexico side as we
set up, very cool-or broadcast production with a crew of 40
volunteers-110 degrees, rodeo cowboys-I know our shared goal will
be the same: to create the best work possible for the client.
Kyle Jones, Group Creative Director, TracyLocke, Dallas, TX:
"I experienced a live sheep in a harness with Darryl. Does it
really get more perfect than that?"
