When AT&T needed an idea for their 2009 holiday campaign, they fell into a winter wonderland. Advertising agency The Integer Group of Dallas, Texas, for AT&T had been looking at various Web sites for a holiday theme, when they found some wondrous imagery from photographer Per Breiehagen. World-renowned Breiehagen has always been known for his great action, adventure and sports imagery, and has latest personal imagery seemed to be a perfect fit for the agency and client. Breiehagen grew up in the mountains of southern Norway and does assignment work around the world from the North Pole to Greenland and Antarctica. His work has had worldwide exposure and has appeared in such publications as National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine and now for AT&T stores and brands.

A holiday tradition for Breiehagen and his family has always been to visit his homeland. On one such trip, he became inspired by his Norwegian heritage and folklore. His young daughter, Anja, became his elfin muse in this fairy tale setting. She was able to approach a tame reindeer, and Breiehagen grabbed the moment and just started shooting. The results were magical photographs that captured a sense of wonder and imagination of the holiday spirit.

Just as he posted these original images of the reindeer and elf on his Web site, The Integer Group of Dallas happened to be doing their search and discovered them. The agency's creative team of SVP Creative Director Craig Carl and Creative Director Rod Stein loved the concept and worked with Breiehagen to create the final 2009 holiday advertising campaign, now appearing in AT&T stores nationwide. The client also purchased the rights to Breiehagen's imagery for television, direct mail, Internet, point-of-purchase and even phone-screen usages. Moral of this holiday story as Breiehagen likes to put it: Stay true to your passion and possibilities in life, work and art will follow. Additional images of the campaign and more work can be seen on his site at www.breiehagen.com.
