Supranav Dash, a 2013 graduate of the School of Visual Arts, recounts his adventures in making large-format portraits of endangered tradesmen in and around his hometown of Kolkata, India, in old-world professions that are at risk of vanishing in our high-tech world. We met with Dash in October 2013 during the 11:30 club at the Eddie Adams Workshop in Jeffersonville, New York.

Brighton—photographer Mark Humphrey has always been fascinated by the
United States, in particular American music. When Humphrey was ten, his
father, a career military man, packed up the family for an American post
at San Diego’s Miramar Naval Air Station. While their stay lasted only
two years, it left a major impression on young Mark.
