Just because a camera has bellows does not mean it is vintage. Lomography loves medium format photography and recently developed their new and daring Belair X 6-12, a pioneering 6x12 film camera that brings an amazing level of lens quality and new developments.

Lomography is an international community dedicated to experimental and creative visual expression. They combine the old with the new, lo-tech with hi-tech to create a unique style of analog photography.  They not only promote their artistic vision but also contribute to its development. The Lomography community is one of the best ways to share photos, discover people who share your interests and read the latest news from the analog world.

The new Belair X 6-12 from Lomography is something to shout about. It is stylish and has all the features of a panoramic medium format camera but without the excessive size.  It is a portable medium-format camera that shoots auto-exposed photographs on 6 x12 film — the world’s first camera to do so.

The Belair X 6-12 takes 120 film and offers awe-inspiring sharpness and quality, along with depth of field and ultra-wide photos. It is built with maximum medium-format flexibility and experimentalism at heart. Not only can you take advantage of the auto-exposure feature, you can also take pictures in three different formats: regular 6 x 9 photos, 6 x 6 squares or 6 x 12 panoramas. This versatile camera has an interchangeable lens system, allowing you to attach either a 90mm standard lens or a 58mm wide-angle lens. Both lenses bring high-quality photos while still being loaded with the well-known Lomographic style and charm.  Plus, the bellows system which gives the camera its wonderful vintage look, allows it to take on a compact form when not being used.

The Belair X 6-12 is  available only for preorders at the moment with a guaranteed January 2013 delivery. The camera will be in Lomography Gallery Stores worldwide in early 2013.

The camera comes in these models:

A metal edition of the Belair camera with brown leather. Includes 90mm Lens and 58mm Wide-angle Lens

Belair X 6-12 Cityslicker
