APA Los Angeles Announces CFE for OFF the CLOCK Exhibition
January 28, 2013
The Los Angeles chapter of APA (American Photographic Artists) has announced its call for entries for the 2013 OFF THE CLOCK Curated Personal Photography Exhibition. Photographers are encouraged to show their most powerful, personal work-- photographs that they create when not constrained by assignment parameters.
Different from a contest, OFF THE CLOCK is curated by a respected member of the fine art community. The guest curator for this year’s OFF THE CLOCK is Anne Lyden, Associate Curator at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Ms. Lyden will select one hundred images from those submitted. The resulting exhibition will be shown at a one-night-only reception on April 13, 2013 at the Helms Bakery in Culver City. Each selected photographer will also receive a bound book with the entire exhibition.
After the reception, the OFF THE CLOCK exhibition will hang for two months each at two of the largest advertising agencies in the west: TBWA\Chiat\Day and Deutsch. This gives the photographers whose work is selected unparalleled exposure to advertising agency creatives and art buyers.
Entry deadline is February 13, 2013. There will be no extensions. OFF THE CLOCK is open to both APA members and non-members.
