Lifts You Out of Everyday campaign for Colorado Ballet.
Photographer Allen Birnbach recently partnered with Denver, Colorado-based boutique branding firm Launch to create a new branding campaign for Colorado Ballet. A series of images feature Colorado Ballet dancers in stark contrast to the unexpected mundane environments in which they find themselves.The theme line, “Lifts You Out of Everyday” prompts readers to escape the everyday grind for the pleasure and beauty of Colorado Ballet.The campaign includes light rail and mall shuttle advertising, Denver Theatre District street banners, guerilla tactics, newspaper and magazine advertising. “What I find most impressive about Allen's work is his eye for detail, light, and most of all his understanding of dance. Allen is a master working with dancers to achieve the desired image,” says Colorado Ballet's Artistic Director Gil Boggs. Launch Creative Director Martha Peck adds, “Allen brings an amazing understanding of dancers, their movement and athleticism. He shares their dedication, their perfectionism, and the instantaneous knowing that a 'best performance' has just occurred and artfully been captured." Numerous companies and individuals contributed services and equipment to make the project a success. Most notably, Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas Corp. loaned a Pentax 645D camera system to accommodate the large-scale displays and prints needed for the campaign.
In addition to the Colorado Ballet, Birnbach also shot a new fashion campaign for Fancy Pants USA for their yoga wear at several locations in Colorado.
