Bil Zelman Publishes Isolated Gesture on Kickstarter
October 12, 2012
For twelve years Bil Zelman carried a heavy, modified Nikon film camera with a powerful flash on it everywhere he went. He traveled to small towns, parades, public gatherings and shot on the street or got into events anyway he could. He photographed thousands of people, without permissions, and sometimes got good responses from his subjects and sometimes not. Isolated Gesture has been collected by or shown in The Museum of Photographic Arts, The Museum of Contemporary Art, The Lucie Foundation, Fort Collins Museum of Art, The Center for Photographic Arts, The Center for Fine Art Photography, The Center for Exploratory and Perceptual Arts, Newspace Center for Photography, The Portland Museum of Art and many others. Zelman is now publishing Isolated Gesture on Kickstarter.
