December 13, 2012
Portrait, advertising and editorial photographer Bryan Regan was approached by a photo editor from Forbes Life to photograph a story in Boca Raton, Florida on the house of author-collector Keith Melton. Regan photographer Melton, the architecture of the house, the interiors and some tabletop imagery. He documented the elaborate details of the home including reclaimed fighter jet seats turned barstools, a museum of Cold War spy memorabilia and hidden bookcases, part of the 37 secret concealments in the house.
Regan and his assistant rented a large SUV and packed strobes, hotlights, seamless, blackout cloth and anything they thought they might need and made the trip down to Boca Raton. They shot late afternoon one day and early morning the next, then drove back, mounting a GoPro camera on the front of the car for the duration of the trip triggered to snap a shot every 30 seconds. They put together 3,600 .jpgs in a timelapse to document their time on the road.
