George Kamper Photographs Lyle Lovett for Equestrian Quarterly
January 27, 2014
Advertising and editorial lifestyle, sports, American West and motion photographer George Kamper photographed Lyle Lovett in Kady, Texas for the Equestrian Quarterly cover and feature story. "He was very gracious, warm, and friendly," says Kamper. Lovett was competing in a reining tournament, so Kamper had to catch him between his rides to do the interview and the shoot. He shot with available light and reflectors, taking time to source a few choice spots where he thought the light and backgrounds would be flattering and interesting. He ended up with many beautiful shots.
Kamper also has winning work in the Communication Arts Photo Annual 2013 on his diving series and in PDN for the "The Shot" sports photo competition. See more of his award-winning sports work here. View his site at www.georgekamper.com.
