An abstract mosaic from beckermosaics.com
Connecticut-based fine art and conceptual photographer Jeff Becker has launched a new Web site featuring custom tile mosaics created from his original photographs. Each mosaic is made to fit the space where it will be placed and is crafted from glass, stone or ceramic tiles. The vitreous glass mosaics can also be backlit. Becker creates each mosaic using software that provides data for a robot which makes each mosaic in 1-foot squares, then is assembled by an installer in the location. Becker's images range from abstract, water, people and nature and are rich in color and vibrancy. For more information, visit beckermosaics.com.
Becker was also recently selected as a Showcase Winner in artslant.com's 2012 Showcase competition cycle and he has also licensed imagery for the Hilton O'Hare in Chicago and the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly. The image for the Renaissance will be reproduced at 88" x 236" on all eleven floors.
