Los-Angeles-based photographer Joe Schmelzer of Treasurbite Studio, known for his advertising and editorial interiors, lifestyle, travel and resort photography, is now working on proposals for a new fine art book. Schmelzer has been exhibiting much of his personal work over the last few years at Western Project in Culver City, California, Diverse Works in Houston, Texas and a show he did last year at Icon LA. The focus of his fine art book will be autobiographical and include portraiture, still life and landscapes. Schmelzer loves to look and photograph what is considered to be the everyday and sometimes even the mundane. "There is beauty in everything, especially in things that pertain to one's life. Some of the images may be in travel locations and some may be simply around the house. I look at them as documents of my life," says Schmelzer. He plans to bring his distinct point of view and experience on ideas of beauty, composition, social matters, gay love and the re-definition of the traditional family to his book project. We hope to report on the progress of the book as he reports in to PhotoServe.
