Skylar Nielsen Goes South with Vita Brevis Films

By Barbara Goldman

Nielsen and his team on the open road in Southern Utah.

Salt Lake City-based automotive/ motorcycle, landscape photographer Skylar Nielsen took time out from his corporate work to shoot a short documentary film about his road trip on the open road  in Southern Utah.  "The open road provides a pathway to the uncontrolled spirit, a state of being that is universally felt yet so challenging to capture through a medium, even for an experienced film studio," says Nielsen.  He brought both his Red cameras to shoot the the trip of his traveling family. Shots of his team cruising were captured with his  pursuit van at high speeds and stabilized by their Movi. The off-road shots of  his motorcycle bromance were captured with his octocopter. Nielsen came prepared to capture it all. See more of his Gone South with Vita Brevis Films here, and  get to enjoy and see the beauty of the open road.  See more transport and landscape work at his site.
