Meteorology fans know the arcus cloud is recognizable by its sloping curve. If you see one, it usually means a thunderstorm or cold front is headed your way. But when you see an Arcus backpack, it looks less tempestuous. The bag is split into three main compartments. There’s a crush-resistant top compartment for your fragile items (glasses, etc.), a large main compartment for personal gear and a full-length, padded electronics compartment that can house up to a 15-inch laptop and tablet. The main compartment can house an optional camera insert. The insert is lined with micro-fiber to prevent scratches and has three customizable dividers. It’s roomy enough to accommodate a DSLR with lens attached, an extra lens and small accessories. You can access the camera insert via a side panel in the bag, so you won’t have to dig through the other compartments to get at your gear. The back of the pack has a pair of zippered pockets for sensitive documents and there’s a detachable sternum strap which you can use for extra support when lugging a heavier load.

PRICE: $230 (backpack); $50 (insert)
