ProMediaGear Intros Katana Jr. Gimbal for Big Glass

November 14, 2016

By Greg Scoblete

ProMediaGear has introduced a new gimbal designed to handle the big glass.

The new Katana Jr. Gimbal Head is strong enough to support a 600mm lens or up to 50 pounds of camera and lens.

It’s forged from anodized and scratch-resistant aluminum alloy but despite its iron constitution it weighs in at a scant 2.4 pounds. You can pan and tilt using a pair of independent knobs that are large enough that they can be rotated with gloved hands.

Your camera will glide along on weather-sealed ball bearings for smooth movement no matter the conditions. There’s an Arca-Swiss-compatible cradle clamp and a 3/8-16 mount for placing the gimbal head on most pro tripods.

The Katana Jr. is shipping now for $500.
