Lomography’s newest instant camera is something of an instant success, meeting its Kickstarter goal in less than half a day.
The Lomo ‘Instant Square will piggyback on the new Instax Square format introduced by Fujifilm earlier this year. Unlike Fuji’s square camera (the SQ10), Lomography’s model will be purely analog.
It features a 95mm glass lens (45mm equivalent) with two aperture settings, f/10 or f/22. There’s an auto mode, the ability to take unlimited exposures and a bulb mode for long exposures up to 30 seconds. Shutter speeds in auto mode will range from 8-1/250 sec. There’s an infrared remote, a self-timer, built-in flash and a tripod mount.
Lomography tells us the Instant Square will ship in January for a retail price of $199, though Kickstarter backers can save up to 35 percent off that price. It comes in a choice of black, white, brown leather, red leather and special edition exclusively for those who pre-order on Kickstarter.
