Object of Desire: Leica SOFORT LimoLand by Jean Pigozzi

January 29, 2018

By Greg Scoblete

The special edition Leica SOFORT LimoLand by Jean Pigozzi.

Special editions are something of a Leica specialty and the LimoLand is no exception. Designed in collaboration with photographer, art collector and fashionista Jean Pigozzi, the LimoLand edition of Leica’s instant camera is inspired by Mr. Limo—the smiley-faced icon of Pigozzi’s fashion label. Mr. Limo was plucked from the images of the Tanzanian artist George Lilanga and is colorfully represented throughout the camera body, with an icon stitched into the camera strap as well. Beyond its cartoonishly colorful exterior, the SOFORT features a forward-facing mirror for selfies (of which Mr. Pigozzi is legendarily fond), a built-in flash (with automatic and manual modes) and several exposure mode presets. You can create multiple exposures, brighten or darken images and use a self-timer. The SOFORT takes Fujifilm Instax Mini film and a 20-pack is included with the LimoLand edition to get you started.
