Firmware Gives Panasonic GH4 New Video Tricks

Fast on the heels of Samsung, Panasonic has rolled out new firmware for its GH4 mirrorless camera to enable several new video features.

Version 2.1 of the GH4’s firmware delivers the following features:

* The ability to add time code to the HDMI output signal.

* Recording start/stop signal embedding in the HDMI output signal.

* Full HD video at 30p/25p native output via HDMI is now available while recording video at FHD at 30p/25p.

* Improved 4K video playback.

Panasonic also fixed a bug related to time lapse shooting.

The GH4 is shipping now for $1,698 (body).
