In addition to the Sony a7R III, Sony trotted out a new full-frame E-mount lens at PhotoPlus: the FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom (model SEL24105G).

According to Sony, the 23.4 ounce lens is the lightest in its class and maintains a constant f/4 aperture throughout the zoom range. It’s dust and moisture resistant, too.

It uses four aspherical lens elements, two of which are high precision AA (advanced aspherical) lenses, alongside three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements to reduce aberrations. There’s Nano AR coating as well to minimize flare and ghosting and fluorine coating on the front element to make it easier to clean.

You’ll enjoy a minimum focusing distance of 1.25 feet and built-in optical image stabilization. There’s a customizable focus hold button.

The new FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom Lens will ship in November for $1,300.

Sony also tipped its hand on the development of a new telephoto lens, the forthcoming FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS Super-Telephoto lens. The company expects to launch it in the summer of 2018. No other details were available.
