Briese’s new Focus.2 reflectors are ideal for fashion shooters looking to draw out subtle textures in textiles or create rich shadows in their subjects. The new family consists of three reflectors, all with new surface materials designed to maximize the intensity of the light output. The Focus.2 111 is optimized for small locations and delivers a harder light to reproduce fine textures. The Focus.2 115 has the most f-stops of any of the new reflectors, while the largest, the Focus.2 130, delivers the softest light of the three but with a high intensity, so it’s ideal for shooting white-on-whites and black-on-blacks. Each reflector is available in three variants: an S-S version with soft reflector material in the front and back; an S-H with soft reflector material in the front and hard material in the back and finally an H-H, with hard reflector material in both the front and back of the modifier. The reflector offers motorized focusing from spot-to-flood with a remote control, or manually via an optional hand crank. The reflector can work with flashes as well as tungsten and HMI bulbs. Adaptor flash heads are available for power packs from a variety of manufacturers such as Broncolor and Profoto.
