You may know Shai Gear as the company that let you wear a camera on your belt and feel less like a bumbling tourist with a fanny pack and more like a swaggering sheriff stepping into a dusty street for a shootout. Their next act, the SpiderPro Hand Strap, may not deliver the same quick-draw thrills as the Spider Holster, but it hits the mark for practicality. The strap slides in between your camera (any camera) and your tripod base plate (any of those, too) to give you a secure hold. The SpiderPro strap is contoured to allow your hand complete access to your camera’s controls while still retaining a firm position as it’s wrapped around your hand. In fact, very little of your camera is off limits when the strap is in place. Its S-shape design affords access to battery doors or memory card slots on the side of your camera. The curved design also keeps your hand at a 45-degree angle to the camera body for comfort. The strap is made from leather and sports a memory foam interior liner, so the unique shape of your hand will be “remembered” by the SpiderPro. It will be available in standard black, cream, red, brown and distressed leather.

Price: $65 (black); $75 (remaining colors)
