Hoping to distinguish itself from ad-driven social networks, Kodak Alaris is relaunching its Kodak Moments app with a new focus on photographic storytelling.
The original Kodak Moments app was primarily a print ordering tool. While that functionality remains, the refashioned app has a much stronger emphasis on captioning and sharing images.
Users can upload an unlimited number of images to the service and avail themselves to a variety of block quote and caption options to notate their photos.
Unlike other photo sharing apps we could mention (ahem), Kodak won’t monetize Moments through ad sales but instead by encouraging users to print images or other photo merchandize items through the app.
You can follow users in Moments, as well as like and comment on their moments. Moments images can also be shared to other social networks.
Kodak Moments is available free on iTunes. An Android version of the app is promised later in the spring.
