If you’re the type that punishes a desktop, leaving your CPU smoldering and your GPU gasping, HP’s Z8 G4 workstation is for you. This computational behemoth has 24 memory slots for a total of 3TB of RAM and up to 48TB of internal storage thanks to four internal 3.5-inch hard drive bays and a pair of external 5.25-inch drive bays. There’s on-board RAID support with multiple RAID options (0, 1, 5, 10). You have tool-less access to the interior of the workstation to make upgrades as needed as well as a laundry-list of premium graphics cards from NVIDIA, AMD Radeon and others to choose from. You can slip two Intel multi-core processors inside the Z8 for a total of 56 processing cores and enough computational horsepower to churn through virtual reality rendering, 4K (and higher) video editing and for modeling the aerodynamics of a new stealth fighter (probably). The front of the workstation features six USB A connectors (3.1 Gen 1) and a pair of USB C ports (3.1 Gen 2). It can also be outfitted with an optional card reader and Thunderbolt 3 ports.
