Seagate hit CES 2018 with several new storage solutions targeted at photographers and consumers on the go.

First up is the LaCie Rugged Secure, the company’s first Rugged drive to be hardware-encrypted with Seagate Secure technology. It also offers Toolkit software and will automatically lock the drive once it’s disconnected from a computer, requiring a password to reopen.

The 2TB drive is built to withstand freezing temperatures, drops and most bumps and bruises.

It’s also due in the Spring for $149.

Next, the Seagate Fast SSD offers a brisk data transfer rate of 540 MB/s over USB-C. The SSD is housed in a shock-resistant enclosure. It will also feature Toolkit software for syncing and backing up content.

The Seagate Fast SSD will be offered in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities for a street price of $99, $169 and $349, respectively. Look for them in the Spring.

Finally, the LaCie DJI Copilot is a field backup device with 2TB of storage housed in a tough rubber bumper. It sports an SD card slot with an included microSD-to-SD adapter with support for the speedy USH-II memory specification.

The Copilot can ingest your drone footage and display its status on its built-in display. You can navigate the Copilot’s contents using a free iOS or Android app. The Copilot BOSS app also lets you playback videos, copy, rename, delete and move files. Your smartphone connects to the Copilot through one of its bundled cables (USB-C, Lightning and micro-USB).

When not used for backup, the Copilot can be used to charge mobile devices. While it’s ostensibly aimed at drone owners, the Copilot can really serve as an all-purpose field backup device.

The unit’s internal battery can ingest about 30 hours of 4K footage on a single charge.

It will ship in the Spring for $369.
